Yes it does. On some projects we build our own using a radon fan and de-humidistat. Just be sure you have enough air supply from the living areas above. Otherwise you will pull CO from the flue pipes on the heating and hot water heater as well as Radon from the ground.
We often install these behind the finished walls of basements. We create a cavity in which to pull the air from. In this way any moisture that may show up will be pulled out of the space long before it gets to the finished walls. Remember Moisture seeks a dry source. So the more you dry the room the more the dampness is going to try to get to that area. If the source of the dampness is the basement walls, Your pulling this through the finished wall surfaces. Raising the dampness of the wall just enough to support mold growth.
Remember though. This is not a fix to leaky or seeping basement walls. Spend the bucks on fixing that first. You will then find you may not even need this device.
