Has anyone heard about that new stainless steel sandpaper, Microplane is making? Sounds interesting, has anyone tried it? I do soooooo much sanding and I always go through tons of sheets of paper. This product sounds like it last a lot longer? Anyone know anything?
You can sign-up to be notified when the S/S sandpaper will be available at Microplane's web site. I use their other Drill Press shapers and find them an excellant choice and look forward to trying the S/S sandpaper... Theo

SS sandpaper is available at http://www.microplane.com.I recently purchased fine and course discs for random sander, however have not had occasion to try them yet.
I actually bought some the other day and have tried it! Here is what I have found: It is a very interesting product! I bought a family pack with has 1 of each grit. I tried the coarse first and it is very, very coarse. I know the package tells you to apply little pressure and that is very true because it removes wood sooo fast!! Also, if I was to buy again I would probably get the med and or fine. The medium worked great and the fine disc worked good also, but it left a couple of marks, however I took a 240 grit and followed up and it worked great! I really recommend this product to anyone who has a lot of sanding to do because it really saves time. I have only used it once and only for about 30 minutes-45 min, each so not sure how long it will stick to the sander-the backing. I reccommend it!
About their rotary shapers-they work VERY well, I love them for making my curves on furniture. Theo-did you know they have a follower kit? I bought it not that long ago and like it also. Have you seen it?
