I replaced my dead electric motor with my neighbors Leeson 2 speed 1/3 hp 208-230 VAC electric motor on my whole house fan, my mounts on the opposite side as his did so mine when wired is running backwards. There are seven wires that come out of the motor. They are as follows 1-T1, 2-T2, 1 - T3, 1-T4, 1-T5,and one with no writing on it. So how do I wire this motor so the fan will spin in the right direction an draw air through the house into the attic not the other way around?
You should find the wiring changes you need either on the houseing of the motor or on the inside of the little plate you remove to gain access to these wires. Without this your best bet is to google the manufacture of the motor asking this question. As many motors although use the same T letter and number, The interior wiring can be connected in many ways.

I found this on a web search. I hope it is helpful. It would be a major pain to have to turn the whole house around!
For specific Leeson Motor Connections go to their website and input the Leeson catalog # in the "review" box, you will find connection data, dimensions, name plate data, etc. www.leeson.com

Okay, I have the wiring diagram and need some assistance. The diagram has the following information: High Volt - rotation - C.W, L1 - P1, L2- T4 T8, Join - T2 T3 T5, insulate separately - P2. Then it has low voltage, rotation C.W, L1- P2, L2- T2 T4 T8, join P2 T3 T5, Insulate separately - . This 2 speed fan I assume the high volt I would wire L2 - T4 T8 together and Join T2 T3 T5. and not concern myself with the low voltage. Do I need three wire (black, white and Red with ground) from a two speed switch? How would I wire this?
