we bought this house last july, never noticed a water flow problem, it seems that if you flush a toilet the water amount to then flow from the faucet is much less, and if the washer is filling up you can basically count on not getting any water from any faucet until it is done, this is worring me as to a possible problem with our water system-any suggestions????

your problem is low pressure from your water supplier. You should call the water company and inquire. It is possible to install a small pump and storage system for your home that would give you increased pressure and flow.

How old is the house? If very old, there may be build-up inside the water piping which could reduce the indide diameter to the size of a soda straw or less. This is very common in older houses, especiallt those with iron water lines.

If the house is newer, then the question may be one of water pressure? Does the house have a well, or does it have city water? If the latter, contact the water company. If a well, there are a bunch of things that could be wrong, so contact a well maintenance and repair contractor.
