I own a two-unit that shares an oil tank for heat and hot water. Can anyone give a general ballpark estimate on how much it would be to separate the heat and hot water? Would I need to install a separate oil tank and furnace, could the second unit be switched to electric heat and a hot water tank? The house was built in 1920, then separated into two-units at some point. I'd like to know if it's even feasible to look into or not. Also, if it is feasible, who do I call to do the work? A plumber? Thanks!
