I am currently looking to purchase a Water softener for my home. I am currently looking at a SALT FREE conditioner ie. (Pelican Filtersorb SP Salt Free Water Softener/Conditioner) or other technology similar.Does anyone have any exprience or knowledge on these products? Do they really work? Are the Salt conditioners better. Please inform.
Thank You

Did you end up getting one of these? I am looking at them now and would love to hear if you have been happy with it....

Based on the age of his post I doubt you will get a reply.
The salt free vs. the salt type all have advantages and disadvantages.

The salt free ones work well and are good for those who must be careful with salt in diet.
Are expensive.
They take up less room but do require professional services at least once a year.

Salt units can be maintained on your own by simply keeping the tub filled with the salt. They do take up more room and require a drain connection.
Cost less to install.

Water Softener

Manufacturing the best available water softener alternative to salt-based water softeners.

The LifeSource Whole House Water System uses NO Salt, NO Chemicals or Magnets and is Maintenance Free. Common Water Softners produce water with a slippery slimy feel, not LifeSource.
