I am buying a new home that has inexpensive oak kitchen cabinets. The shade of teh cabinets is reddish and not very attractive in this home. I do not want to paint the cabinets. I like a wood stained look. I've had an interior designer over to help choose wall color, etc. She suggested I put a chocolate glaze over the oak stained cabinets. The grain is very noticable in the cabinets also. Does anyone know how this will look? Have advice on oil based, etc? Any input is appreciated. g.
