Any advice on painting over laminate on sides of a folding table in laundry rn to change color(to accompany replacing table top with solid surface). Table attached to wall. Sherwin Williams store recommended a good primer for improved adhesion and high quality chip resistant top coat. Also rumored that painting will not work out very well.
You must sand the heck out of the top to provide a good bond. But the rumor is correct. If the top is going to be used for anything the paint will end up peeling off after a short while.
If its just the frame of the table and not a top that would get wear, it should be ok. But its a lot of money to do a solid surface top over a table that you do not like the looks of. perhaps your better off replacing the whole thing?

Thanks for info! You make a good point as always. Working directly with fabricator granite installer on kitchen counters, so it is the best time to add the counter in Laundry adjacent to Kit. Your advise is what I needed, since the table frame is an ok color (but would match kitchen cabinets perfect if painted off white to match painted maple doors...) and so I will go ahead with expensive top since I have more comfort with an option to make it match nearby kit...
