Does anyone know of a good quality dishwasher that can fit under a counter top with only 33 1/4" height? The story is long as to why this is, but the bottom line is I can't raise the counter and I can't lower the floor.

I was at a party last night and saw a dishwasher that was like a drawer. I know they mnake them. They use one gallon of water per cycle and are being put in all the expensive kitchens

Not only does a high end house like like FISHER & PAYKEL make a drawer type dishwasher, but GE makes a very affordable under sink dishwasher. It is typically matched with a specific GE branded sink. Used together they total regular counter height, but without the sink it just might work for you.

I LOVE my two diswasher drawers located on either side of the main sink-- no bending over. They are Fisher-pakel. Another possible solution is to bump up the counter height where the dishwasher is. In another home I built a floor to ceiling cabinet where the dishwasher was because of necessary utility run. Above the dishwasher became a appliance garage and above that storage.... good luck

Thanks for all of the input. I checked out both the shorter Whirlpool and a couple of drawer type. I not sure which way I am going yet, but at least I have a direction.

By the way - bumping up the countertop is not in my plans - it's granite.

Thanks again for the help.

I am a Kithcen Designer and you can use an Asko dishwasher or a Viking as Asko makes Vikings dishwashers for them.

Fisher & Paykel has an awesome unit and you can either purchase the one drawer or purchase two separate drawers and put them on either side of the sink or place one in a totally separate location if you can plumb for it. Kitchen-Aid makes a knock-off but it isn't of the same quality. This was the best dishwasher I've ever owned, has many interior configuration options and I can't say enough about it.

Just wanted to let you know that if you ask for a ADA complient dishwasher it should fit under your counter. GE makes one.

Have you checked to see that the height adjusting screw is all the way up. This can lower the dishwasher app 1".
Also there are drawer type dishwashers as well. Upon watching whats new in kitchens for 2007 I saw that many people are now lifting the dishwasher up off the floor and have a small cabinet under them. In the manner of the new washers and dryers. (on a base)
