Hopefully this is the correct forum to post these questions...
I have a brand new-construction house with a "direct vent" downdraft cooktop. We're having MAJOR problem(s) that could be connected or maybe just unpleasant coincidence?!?!?!
The downdraft aluminium vent pipe (that goes outside) has a single metal flap outside on it. Sounds like a machine gun (except when the fan is on 24/7...) and its literally driving us insane!
How do we "silence" this beast!!!
Also dangerous cold is coming back through the aluminium vent pipe (c. 18-24" +/- from the outside flap to the fan grill including the one right angle turn...) The pipe has no insulation/coving of any type on it... just bare icy cold pipe.
Dangerous-painful cold is coming back through the cabinet housing the downdraft cooktop & the floor directly in front of it... as well.
