Kitchen is PERFECT 1973. We're out of **. Bright yellow formica counters with great but boring wood cabinets. Is there a way to get rid of the bright yellow until we can replace? Thanks and would appreciate any suggestions.

There is nothing you can do that will last. Paint is out of the question. If you spend the money in attempt to cover them you would be better off going to a big box store and purchase pre-made tops and install them. They are quite reasonable but are a little tricky to install if there is a corner envolved.
