Is there a design standard on locating seams on a counter which is longer than the slab length. In my case the length of counter is 11ft 1 inch and the slab about 10 ft. My installer recommended the full length of the slab (about 10 ft) leaving a small piece in a dead corner by the wall of 13 inches. There is a drawer which ends at 16 inches from the wall and a 2nd drawer which ends 32 inches from the same wall by the dead corner. We like the long full slab idea but are not sure if this violates some rules of design.. as a seam breakpoint at the vertical line of a drawer ending (which exends to the cabinet door below). We think it would be more noticeable in the midde of the 11 ft length.. another alternative suggested by installer. (on the end of the counter opposite the dead corner there is a dropdown to a 4 ft desk which is open with shelves below on end and no wall)
