So you have decided to renovate or worse yet build from scratch your dream home. On this adventure you will need to be very organized and naturally you will need a kitchen.

What is "a kitchen"? You may think this is a dumb question, but think about it for a moment. "A kitchen" can be almost any style, any price, any material and anything your designer can dream up.

So what does this mean to you? It means before you write a wish list, before you call the architect, contractor or designer. You need to be clear what "a kitchen" means to you based on your lifestyle.

Your life style and your homes layout:
A. Casual and open concept (often used in contemporary, suburban or condo projects)
B. Formal with a preference for separate rooms. (Often traditional in style)

What are your intentions for your new home?
A. Looking to flip the house for a quick profit.
B. Empty nesters looking to truly customize your last home.
C. A growing family with evolving needs and a firm budget.

Now you have to choose carefully.
