I am having black granite installed in a couple weeks and I am having trouble deciding what color to do the cabinets. The walls are a faux red brick. Currently, the appliances are white, which I will want to change eventually, but the cabinets will come first. The tile is a light beige type color. What do you think I should pick for cabinets? Black granite, white appliances (hopefully will change sooner than later), red brick wall, light tile. Thanks for your help!
Many factors How big is the kitchen. What is the style of the house? What shape is the kitchen layout? What kind of lighting is in the kitchen
I like cherry myself. Very rich and works great with stainless appliances and sink. The Red in the cherry will bring out the brick more.
But if the kitchen is small, dark is not the way to go. Also if you only have a few cabinets to do, dark again is not the way to go. lighter is better. I assume by this post your going to finish them youself, not put new ones in. Light colors paint on better then dark. It is difficult on site unless you have a lot of experiance to finish cabinets dark.

I guess I'm old school or something, but I always prefer lighter and brighter colors in the kitchen and bath. I would think seriously about matching the floor tile color so the dark countertops would have even more visual impact.

I think the natural wood look with a lighter stain (like on these kitchen cabinets) would go really well with what you're describing.
I really like the juxtaposition of wood with a fairly light stain on exposed brick (faux or not) - site above happens to have the cabinets on a light coloured wood floor.
Along the lines of what The Home Care Club (... person) above is saying, I think cherry could work well, but somehow I'd see it as being a bit much as far as red if you have white appliances. If you're going to get Stainless steel appliances in the future then the cherry would go really well IMHO.
