Has anyone put down the Bruce Plano hardwood flooring sold at Home Depot? Good prices but noone else carries the Plano line, that I know of? Wondering about installation problems?

Bruce Plano from Home Depot should cross over to a running line bruce hardwood product that you can find at any Bruce Hardwood Retailer. Check these two sources against each other for finish, thickness, width, number of plys, and profile(beveled or not).

HD is notorious for having manufacturers come up with uniquely named product lines for HD. These may be identical to other product lines the manufacturer may offer. The unique name makes it hard to perform a price comparison and keeps them from having to pay off on any guarantee that says that they will refund the difference if you find the product elsewhere at a lower rpice.

My experiance with the big box stores is like Jeff_H says. The companies have their own lines of products. However with name brands such as Bruce, I have found that once I have the name and style of flooring my customer desires, I then of course do an internet search. I often find this same product for a lot less then what the local flooring stores sell for.
This is the same if you ever decided to purchase a mattress. Same company and product, but many names based on the retailer selling. So as Justin said, Do the proper research and you will find this floor elsewhere for less.
