I have had two faux artists tell me that Aquabond is designed to adhere to anything. I bought a home, and I am not sure what is on the cabinets - oil or latex based finish. The two ladies that have given me bids on the project thus far say that Aquabond will adhere to either. I am no expert, but I know oil and water do not mix. Are they adequately informed? Is there some chemical (surfactant) in it to make it adhere to oil if that is what is on my cabinets? I do not want to pay for something and then have it peel off. Thanks so much for your input.

The best primer I have used is still the Zinzer 123. It will stick to oil based paints, heck even glass & tile, if you are so inclined. We had oil based paint on our cabinets and had paint peeling. We sanded them down to remove the peeling, primered with the Zinzer and used a good quality cabinet paint and have been quite happy with the results! Now if we could come up with a paint that "eats" kids fingerprints........ Smiler
