Help!!!
We had a small dining area.
We added back 10 feet, and got new furniture (oak)
The dining room is open to a galley kitchen that has white cabinets, with black countertops, and white appliances.
Of course, now I hate the look, but don't want to go to the expense of replacing the cabinets.
I'd like to soften it up to reflect the country look I was going with when I chose the dining room furniture.
I don't know if it's the white cabinets that is the real problem. I think it's more about the countertops and backsplash (white tile, with insert tile in white, black, and a little stainless steel color look.
Suggestions please.
Thanks

Can you afford to replace the counter tops? If so, the counter top color can change the entire feel for the space. If not maybe you can add a little black and white touch to the dining room with the accessories (placemats, lighting, cushions etc) and then incorporate a little wood into the kitchen area. Purchase a large butcher block and set on top of the counter. Add some kind of trim/molding in oak to the cabinets or replace one set of doors in one of the upper wall cabinets with oak. Make the doors open center panels to add something creative and country. If you cant replace a set of doors, then what about adding some wood shutters to a window? The key is to create balance and harmony to the space.
Good luck,
Christy

Hi- You didn't mention what color your walls are - that could impact your look. Also, do your white cabinets have raised panel doors or what style? could be they need a little cosmetic work to give them a more country style -- maybe the kitchen feels more contemporary -- Give us some more feedback---

Hi Siber,

The walls are painted green, a more than medium green, but not an out and out dark green.
The white cabinets are made by Kraftmaid, are are raised.
thanks
