We took the 1970 carpet out of our kitchen and was left with adhesive over the old linoleum. The adhesive was sanded off and I have had a terrible allergic reaction to it (flu symptoms). I told my boyfriend about possible asbestos, but he acts like I'm crazy. It's all over the house. Is there the possibility of asbestos?

please do your self and your boyfriend a favor do not sand any more of this glue. Yes it is possible that it contains asbestos fibers have it tested by a certfied person. If it is tested positive for asbestos it should be removed by someone trained and the area being done air tested before and after removial. Also the old linoleum may possibily contain asbestos since it was installed before the carpets.good luck with your project.
