My husband and I just bought a 1950's Cape Cod house. I tore up the old carpeting and there is hardwood floors underneath. I would like to refinish them, but I have no idea how to do this. Could you give me step-bystep instructions? Thanks for any help.

Wow, that was a LONG sentence on that first reply.

The advice, if you can decipher it, looks good. It all starts with renting the big upright push sander. Then, you really another smaller rotary sander for any small areas and corners. Also, if there's any VERY small areas, manual scraping is needed. yuk.
