I have removed old wallpaper to expose original 100+ year old plaster. Some is crumbly, mostly edges next to wood trim around windows. I want to wood veneer over these areas, and add woodwork. Can anyone tell me of a product or chemical that will bond, fuse, bind, this old plaster so it will not distort the new veneer? Thank you

I've never heard of applying wood veneer over plaster, but this stuff for patching works well, at least for small areas. I've never used it over a large area, but it will probably be ideal for your needs. It is not cheap. but it works.

Nope, you got to remove the plaster and repair it or put what ever veneer you want directly over a new surface. You do not want to put anything over the old walls otherwise it could fail later. Plaster walls are not structural. Unless you can fasten directly through into the wood framing hidden below the wall surface nothing will hold onto the surface of the plaster for very long.
