I have a large section of wood flooring in a house I just bought that is going to be removed to put plywood down and be tiled.
There are several areas throughout the house that need patching. What is the best way to remove the hardwood to use for patching without damaging or splintering the wood.
This is a very time consuming project. You should first remove the first few rows of wood. Then with a nail set re-set the nails into the subfloor further. This will release the flooring. It will take a fair amount of time to do this. The result will be saving some but not all of the wood. Also it will be much more difficult to pull out the nails on the sub-floor when your prepare the floor for the new sub-floor and tiles.
