I plan on living in the upstairs and renting the downstairs. The downstairs is already occupied. I live with my parents and so i can fix the upstairs while still living there. If anybody has any advice on how to save cash by different ways of fixing it up i would be veryyy grateful Im pulling up the carpet putting laminate flooring. I want to paint everything. The bathroom is super small and the bahtub is yellow. I was thinking of bathfitters and trying to find some wasy to open it up a bit to make it look larger. There a dings in the walls and I need a door for my bedrooom. I also have to install a security system and a garage door opening system for 2 doors. If anyone has decorating tips to make an area look nicer and larger andprobably more expensive than it really is let me know. I need all the help i can get Smiler

Thanks,
A new landlord. lol

Light colors and lots of mirrors in the right places is the best I can think of.

Funny you should ask...I'm a design student and we have a quiz tonight on color. Cool colors (blues, greens, purples) on the walls make a room look larger and on furniture makes the furniture look smaller. Warm colors (reds, oranges, yellows) do the opposite.
