I have a problem in my 100+ year old farmhouse with some subflooring. I am in the process of removing all the subfloor to reveal the original hardwood floor. The problem I have is that the subflooring goes underneath some of the walls. All of the walls have been redone with drywall and I need someway to cut the subfloor flush with the drywall so that when I put the new floor moulding on it will be able to sit against the original floor. I am not sure what type of tool might work best to cut the subfloor without messing up the original floor. The subfloor is particle board so it hasn't broken off real straight.

Any help is appeciated.

Did someone say Sawsall? <snapping out of lurk mode>.

Schneism, you simply must get one! You can touch the tip on the wood you want to cut and put more pressure so you can do a plunge cut.

Our subfloor is plywood over wood boards. We used a circular saw set to the size of the plywood (Duh, I was going to free hand it until mate pointed out that I was going to cut all the way through). Close to the wall was Sawsall time (being careful).

There's are circular saws that are made to cut up next to a verticle surface. The Rental place here in Shawnee, KS has 2 styles. One was called an undercut saw and the other a toe kick saw. They would be much safer if you are trying to not cut all the way thru the floor.
