I want to paint all the rooms in my home. I want to use low-VOC paint. My question is: Is low-VOC paints washable? My daughter has a habit of putting her dirty hands on the walls, in her room, down my hallway and through out the kitchen. Will this work for me?

I've read good reviews of Benjamin Moore's Aura paint, and Olympic 25 year latex is advertised as low odor-zero VOC, stain resistant and superior scrub.

low voc paints are washable. Each paint company has different types of paint for this reason.
Check with a good quality paint store, not the big box ones as they typically have no idea what they are selling unless its written on can. Even then they do not know what it means.

A good quality laytex paint should be fine. I assume you do not want a heavy smell in the house because of all the paint your applying. Todays laytex paints do not give out the odor that there older brothers did.

But for your piece of mind, check with the paint store and tell them of your concern and they will help you out.

Besides even though the big box stores have a fairly good brand of paints, going with a larger paint company chain brand will make a difference on how the project comes out. Less paint used and better end results.

If the paint odor is all you are worried about try this: Put 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring in each gallon of paint. It removes the odor and does not harm the paint. It will not change the color of the paint either. Can be used in latex and oil paint.
