I need to paint my stairway and I am at a loss at how to do this safely. The walls reach all the way to our ceilings on our second floor. Would anyone know of the best way to do this? Help would be greatly appreciated. J
Lean a ladder against the wall on the high side from a lower point on the stairs. Depending on the ceiling height, you need to determine the height ladder. Lay a plank(something very sturdy to walk on) from one end of the ladder rung to the stair tread or wherever comfortable. Remember safty first.

Check with your local scaffolding rental supplier...there is a narrow scaffold that can be utilized for this very purpose, I know this as we just returned some about three months ago to stipple ceilings above stairs. They can provide you with everything to set them up safely!

There are some adjustable ladders (Little Giant and many cheaper versions) that can be configured to handle just about anything. Check them out at your local home center.
