for the drain tile, i will have it run into a dry well 20 feet away from the house. that and seal/waterproof the outside should leave me with no worries for the rest of my time in the house.
any comments?

well, i figured that since i will be digging up the entire perimeter of the foundation i might as well put in a drain pipe all the way around and direct it into a drywell. i know it might not be necessary since i will be sealing the walls, but why not since i have already done the extensive labor? it cant hurt...
any comments?

from the onset of posts, i`ve tried to be as clear as i possibly can about basement waterproofing, any and all possibilites as to how/where water can enter and get onto bsmt floor and, the OTHER possible problems that can occur in basements/with bsmt walls IF the problem(S) are not FIRST-defined-correctly, then fixed correctly.
if you like, start here-from onset..for awhile as Richard says, things were rather peaceful and some of us just simply trying help people and inform them of ALL the facts, not like some others who came along who rather give people a small glimpse into bsmt waterproofing--what they-want- Ho`s to know and NOT KNOW. I/others (hope i can speak for them) aren`t here to make a thousand new friends, be liked etc, its simply trying to help people, inform them of ALL facts/possibilities, 'some' obviously don`t appreciate our honesty
LW quote "An outside method done correctly is as follows...Hand-dig to footing, haul all clay-soil away, scrape `n wire brush the wall, seal all openings w/hydraulic cement, apply THICK Asphalt/Tar over wall, apply 6 mil visqueen over tar,and as important....Backfill w/100% peastone-gravel from footing all the way up to within 4-8"(up to 1 ft) of grade, fill remainder w/top soil."
there is your step by step!
but is there anything between stone and topsoil to prevent the topsoil from falling down? like straw and then some kind of landscape fabric?
also, why not a perimeter drain at the footing?

LicensedWaterproofer: You are a Friend in my head I just read about 1 hour of your past post on the subject of waterproofing. I feel like I just received a college course in waterproofing. Thanks for being honest and taking the time to educate us. If you were near me I'd hire you in a minute! Do you have anyone you trust in my area that does this work and has the obvious work ethic's as you do? I live in South New Jersey, also close to Philadelphia, PA.
