My home was built 1937>small 1 car garage>floor if cracking and chipping(about 35% of sq.ft)Am requesting fix ideas;both as to product and procedure/methods.Garage is used for toy storage(tools.table saw etc.type toys-every tool owned for last 50 yrs) Live in Connecticut--weather gets cold--any suggestions-please ?

If it were my garage and my tools, I would consider removing the entire probably-too-thin-anyway floor slab, and I'd place 4 inches of gravel, a well-constructed vapor retarder, and pour a new 4-inch thick floor, treating it with hardener-sealer. They didn't install many vapor retarders in 1937, so that would be an improvement.

If you contemplate ever heating the garage, say to use as a workshop, then I would place 2-inch Styrofoam rigid insulation board under the concrete and on top of the vapor retarder.
