We are in the process of building a house. In this area, they pour footings, do the plumbing and fill in with sand then pour the slab. As I was walking the house today (no carpet or tile has been laid yet), I noticed that there are cracks along the footing and foundation where they meet. There are also cracks from the edge of the slab going into some of the rooms. Is it normal for these cracks already? Should I contact the city inspector? Any suggestions are appreciated.

It wouldn't hurt to contact your city or a private inspector, but concrete cracking is normal and some should be expected even in a "perfect" pour.
