I have posted before trying to get advice on how to properly waterproof my basement. I appreciate all the good advice I received. Unfortunately, at this time, I cannot proceed with my basement project due to lack of competent excavators and waterproofing companies at this time due to massive sewer lateral projects in the county that are keeping the excavators busy, lack of time due to new job, and a pending minor surgery at the end of October. I would like to waterproof my garage before winter sets and before surgery. I've diagnosed the problem as tree roots and need of a downspout extension, as the tree can be seen in the pics. I would like to excavate around the garage foundation using a trencher and then finishing it off with a shovel if need be. I plan on filling in the mortar gaps with hydraulic cement. I will clean the block and spray it down with bleach mixture to kill the green stuff on it. Can anyone recommend what I can use to waterproof the block foundation. I then plan on backfilling with stone that I will get from the quarry in a pickup truck. I will address the tree in the spring, I'd love to cut it down now, but as always, its not in my budget. I'm open to suggestions, if anyone has any on a better way to do this and/or what products to use. Thanks.
