Some of the inside waterdiverting salespeople who tell ya radon is bllchtt, no big deal etc etc, hey, tell THAT to this poor guy, buncha glue sniffing farts.....wake up!
Radon can enters from the SOIL outside your house THROUGH lil tiny pores on the Outside of hollow block bsmt wall, sure! It can enter through small hairline cracks or, as quite a few have, 1/2", 1", 2" wide-cracks that are on Outside of basement walls.
So, any venting system in bsmt floor should help vent radon from Under the floor out, it can`t stop/prevent radon from entering through cracks, pores etc in basement walls.
Poured bsmt walls? radon can enter through cracks but also THROUGH ROD HOLES, sure You`ve seen some of those rod holes that begin to get a lil brown, those lil circles in wall... or a lil moldy looking, maybe you see lil moisture/water just beginning to enter through em. Well, radon can enter through as well IF/when its in the soil against the outside of basement walls. Rod holes are often barely plugged/sealed on outside when home is built, older homes and...homes being built today.
