Any suggestions on how to find out where this moisture is coming from, how to stop it? In my garage, where the concrete block sits next to the slab, you can see a small puddle of dampness after rain. The brick veneer wall opposing this wall is wicking moisture northwards almost to the second floor. I'm just trying to figure out the best way to figure out where the moisture is coming from. Thanks!!!
Do a visual inspection first, looking for cracks, loose mortar, small holes around windows. etc.
Then, you can do some investigation with a garden hose. Aim it at the spot where the moisture comes in, as low as possible first, having someone watching the inside for the appearance of water. Every few minutes, aim the hose a little higher, repeating this process until the water appears.
With brick, there could be many causes. Brick itself can be quite spongelike, depending on the exact brick used. There could be cracked mortar joints, blocked weep holes, incorrect or absent flashing, and other possibilities which can't be identified without seeing the building.
