  Problem with 1935 foundation

My house was built in 1935 with poured concrete foundation...back when my fathers uncle owned the house (1950's) the problem developed. The problem is like the cement was a sandy mix or something where in certain areas on the the surface its sandy and falls off....u can still see the orginal places where he was patching it years ago....the house seems solid i aee not real problem and was just wondering if anyone has ever encountered this problem...i don't see any water coming through....its been like this for 50 plus years so i guess its nothing to be alarmed about but just wanted some pro advice
