I am selling a 5 year old home. The inspector located a pool of water on top of the plastic liner in the crawlspace which I dried a week ago using a single bath towel. The water has not returned. The former pool is located under our laundry/utility room but there is no evidence of a leak from that source.
I am trying to satisfy a nervous buyer and find the source of the water. I have a plumber coming out, but if he verifys the inspector's opinion that there is no leak from the laundry room I need to take other steps. Who should I call next???
Maybe call the plumber back and have him insulate whatever water pipes there are near the leak, to prevent condensation, which may have been the source of the water.

Also check the dryer vent. Quite often when these are blocked water begins to collect on the lint blockage. If this occurs any pin holes in the pipe will drip water. If your dryer is taking a long time to dry cloths than what it used to do. That is a sign of this blockage.
