Just wondered what folks thought about doing this. This is a unique thing that can add value to a home if your in the right area. But in most cases you will never get your return back on your investment. Unless your like this person that spent a LOT of money doing this project.

No, not exactly your basic low-budget job. This owner had better be planning on staying in the house a long time, because that's how long it will take to recoup his investment. Most people could build a modest but satisfactory new house for what he spent there.
