The guy I got digging to patch up the hole/gap where the water main comes in the house says he's picking up a pickup truck full of gravel. He does this kind of basement waterproofing all the time and said only sometimes does he backfill with gravel. I said I did want it backfilled. Does it have to be peastone? Can it be just crushed gravel? Is the smaller the stone the better? What about bigger rocks? Let me know what you think. thanks.
