Hi friends,

I have two separate corners, where water is leaking in to my basement. The blocks are moist, i drilled holes at the bottom of the wall and i drained the block. The question to you is I have heard about injection sealent to stop the leaks, i wonder if anyone knows if that is available and if it works because i do not want to have to excavate the exterior of the wall. The walls are in great shape inside, they are very straight with no major cracks. I just have two corners at opposite ends of the house where i have the problem. I have extensions on the downspouts of the eves to divert the water away from the house, but i still have the problem. That is why i was wondering if i could seal it by injecting the blocks. thanks for your help.

If you have read any of many posts in this forum, you will realize that once water enters your foundation, you have a problem, which cannot be fixed from inside, because the water is entering from the outside. A foundation that is full of water is not a healthy situation. Attack the problem where it exists, and that is outside your walls.

you can`t inject hollow block walls, only poured and, injecting cracks in poured walls has about a 50-50 success rate, some will last awhile and some won`t, they re-leak.

most often there will be a crack at/near the corner on the outside, thats where water first-enters into the blocks, stays inside `n falls through the blocks until it comes out onto the basement floor at/near cold joint.

whoever wants to try and paint the walls, inject hollow blocks, raise the grade, extend the downspouts etc then lotsa luck.

did you look at picture`s of cracks on outside of block walls that have been posted?

many ask, how is water entering? Whats the best way to fix the problem(s)? some of us have repeatedly/honestly answered, there will always be those who don`t like the answers and will choose to try other things, again, best of luck to those.
