when i was doing the sanitred application i had an area of the basement wall that was leaking water for weeks after the last rain. i dried it out with a hand held propane torch and applied the product and it sealed it up completely. we've had some 3+ inch rain days since and that used to cause me to use a wet vac to pump the area every 20 minutes. now i don't get a drop of water. is that water piling up outside my foundation? it's possible but my entire house is on a downslope so it's probably just continuing on its way down the hill. sure there's probably some residual but most is draining off. i can attest to this because i've dug down to the footings when doing the external waterproofing and saw it for myself.
No, that water is now piling up inside your foundation wall. It is still entering the way it did before, because you did not diagnose and remedy the problem. All you have done is to seal off its escape route into the basement. For now.

allowing water-moisture to enter a block wall can/could indeed WEAKEN the basement wall.
water can erode mortar joints between the blocks, just like with bricks.
and for many other homeowners its MORE than water passing through the wall, entering through cracks/loose parging/gaps where service lines enter...gotta consider SOIL pressure,roots,porch-footings,driveway-patio slabs, ALL of these can cause cracks, leaks, cause existing cracks to widen, cause wall to bow in.
And Sanitred? I`ll hit on their 1st supposed-advantages, they CLAIM... "Sani-tred INDOOR basement waterproofing permanently seals ALL seams,CRACKS,holes and joints in WALLS,floors, floor joints and wall-to-floor cold joint which is IMPOSSIBLE to seal or waterproof from the outside of the basement or foundation"
This is a FALSE CLAIM, NONSENSE! Wish the Attorney General in INDIANA would take a good loooong look at this
If FRAUD is...deceit,trickery,sharp practice or breach of confidence PERPETRATED for PROFIT or to gain some UNFAIR or DISHONEST advantage then, at least some of what sanitred claims is.....fraud!
FRAUD...any ACT,expression, omission or concealment CALCULATED to deceive another to his or her advantage-intent to deceive
False claims perpetrated/presented here
Here is couple PIC`S of MANY, let me ask sanitred, YOU CLAIM your product(s)PERMANENTLY seals ALL cracks, holes etc in walls and that... exterior waterproofing cannot. Now, thats a BIG smelly load of american BS.
How will applying/using your inside products stop/prevent/waterproof/seal the following cracks that are on the EXTERIOR of block walls
http://photosmart.hpphoto.com/FilmStripHome.aspx?JobID=...ccd2d711e507&SKU=HP# How about these cracks, little roots growing inside-into cracks...huh? You saying since a few of us do exterior waterproofing, that WE are liars? That WE don`t KNOW what we`re talking about? That we are lying to homeowners? I gotta DEFEND this dang bs.
You can`t seal/waterproof these cracks and other openings, loose parging etc, because...the ONLY POSSIBLE means of doing so is, DUH... from the outside!
False claims,nonsense!
Water, moisture will STILL enter into the blocks, into the wall REGARDLESS of what YOU do/apply on the inside,ya knothead!
Expanding-contracting SOIL pressure, roots STILL against the outside of the dang wall! Will CAUSE cracks to WIDEN and possibly bow in. you don`t understand this? You don`t care?
What about mold? What about radon, insects that STILL can enter into the hollow blocks? Just because there should be 1/2 solid blocks on top of hollow blocks, there are still GAPS/OPENINGS in the JOINTS BETWEEN these solid blocks. Radon, insects can easily enter basement and 1st floor
Termites alone cause 5-6 billion dollars of damage every year, they often enter into hollow blocks through cracks, loose parging, gaps on outside....sheesh!
What about further deterioration of the blocks, of the JOINTS between the blocks, huh?
Sani CLAIMS these "cracks/openings are IMPOSSIBLE to seal/waterproof from the outside" LIE, false claim, garbage! Some of us been waterproofing cracks, seams, gaps etc for DECADES! NO Customer complaints, ever! I`ll ask-bring some of them- to COURT to DISPROVE these false CLAIMS, would you like that Sani? Sani has UN-satisfactory BBB record due to one or more UNRESOLVED complaints. Why don`t you resolve the problem(s)?
Go to www.search.bbb.org punch in ideal products... indiana, yea aka sanitred. BBB claims business file open date in 2003.
'Sani seals ALL cracks'....does that include cracks on outside of CHIMNEY walls too? NO! PIC 13 is a crack, is PART of where WATER is FIRST-entering and then it enters inside basement through chimney chute door and underneath door. OTHER problem, openings are in some of the other PIC`s 10,11,12,17/openings in MORTAR joints http://photosmart.hpphoto.com/FilmStripHome.aspx?JobID=...ba114a269878&SKU=HP#
Quit bs`g people, give them all the dang facts. You claim to be an expert on basement waterproofing? Huh???
In your dreams, maybe.Shall i get into some of your other claims? Huh?
Whoever wants to buy their products, go right ahead, nobody is stopping you
