My house was built in 2001. Water leaks only during extremely heavy rain but I never see the water accumulate above the dirt at all. The water flows in below the drywall so it is hard to see where the water is actually leaking in from. I dug up all the dirt from the window well and there is foam against the concrete above the foundation. Should I remove the foam or just re seal the foam and seal where the foundation and the foam meet? The water is drained via a french drainage system. I have pulled away the plastic and removed all the pea gravel so I can see everything possible. The foundation itself doesn't have any sealer but there is a black sealer against the foam. The foundation slab is extremly thick.
