I presently have a parquet kitchen floor in my home, would like to replace it, however only plan on being in the home for 2-3 more years. Should I replace it for resale, my preference is tile.

Tile is prefered by most prospective home buyers. It looks great and is easy to maintain. If your parquet is still in good shape, it's really a toss-up if you want the mess and expense.
