Okay....I'll admit it, I'm stuck in the sandwich generation and trying to find the impossible - Post & beam house plans with both a master bedroom and an inlaw suite on the mainfloor......the reason we are looking at post & beam is the flexibility with the interior I should also mention that this house will likely be off grid and ground floor for local building codes must be 1200 square feet. Anyone know of such an animal or am I stuck designing from scratch?
It's not much more expensive to have a draftsman draw up the plan to spec vs buying a plan package, plus it will be exactly what you want. Or if you find a floor plan you like with a crawlspace option that calls for engineered I joists, submit the plans to the city/county with a layout in post and beam for the floor construction. Eliminate point loads by having it trussed. Ask around for a good truss company and draftman at a decent lumber supplier. Hope that helps
