I need to get my lawn aerated and reseeded but was just wondering when the best time to do that may be. I have heard spring, and I have heard autumn, but am not sure if one is truly better than the other. I live in Ohio in case that factors into a decision. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated as I have someone scheduled to do it next week I just want to make sure spring is fine as opposed to autumn. Thanks again ahead of time for the advice.
that's right on target for Ohio - about the same time I do it in NW New Jersey. I reseed/patch usually during the first 2 weeks in May. The tough part is keeping the kids off the lawn until the end of May!

I've already thought of that but what can I do. Thanks for the advice and I'll just go ahead and do it next week. I take it it requires a lot of water afterwards as well, right? How much watering do you do after?
I try to never let it go dry for 10-12 days afterwards to give it a fighting chance (competing with birds, cat-sized squirrels, etc.) - I'm no fan of straw all over the place.
