Here is the dilemna that I'm faced with. Every time I've killed weeds without killing the lawn I'm left with a bare spot where the weed was. Is there a product that will kill the weed and promote new grass growth in its place or do I need to kill the weeds, then go around and plant grass seed all over? That seems crazy, especially when you consider that you shouldn't mow over the newly seeded areas for quite a while. If you have weeds scattered throughout your yard, you could have to wait several weeks to cut your grass. At that point it will be a nightmare.

Depending on what type of weeds you have, there are many weed and feed fertilzers that you can use to promote healthy lawn and removal of pesty weeds.
The problem with localized weed killers they do kill some of the surrounding growth. Be carefull near flower gardens and be sure not to use these sprays on windy days or you can loose more then just the weed area.
Scotts has many products that can help remove the weeds without killing the grass.
