Can anyone guide me to professional books on how to propogate bamboo? Dividing the rhyzomes can be very difficult to be successful in. Any tips on how to do this would be great.

The first thing to know is do you have a runner or a clumper? For runners there is good information at http://www.needmorebamboo.com/digging.html

The book "Bamboo for Gardens" by Ted Jordan Meredith has a prety good chapter on dividing both clumpers and runners. "The Gardener's guide to Growing Temperate Bamboos" by Michael Bell also has some good information on propagating bamboo.

You can also find a lot of good information on the forum at www.bambooweb.info
