I have completed building a new garage and planned for a 16' two car garage door. I need to know what the correct rough opening should be for a new door installation or the proper finished opening before the door is installed. Greatly appreciate any information provided.
Thank you.

First, consult the manufacturer of the door, but generally the finished opening is exactly the same as the door width, and then stops are applied on the head and jambs.
