I have used this method of framing for almost 20 years. Not only is it more efficient, but eliminating jack studs in favor of trimmers allows the carpenter to maintain a perfect reveal around the windows.

I have also done this or a modified version for years, California corners, hollow insulated headers, pre insulated blind corners. It is all a mater of following a "system" approach which all the people on site will follow including the sub's.

This is a good way to frame a window from the standpoint of insulation and versatility, but it doesn't save any lumber as the video states.

With a bigger and converter combo, you should notice a huge difference!! Also with the tune of course.
