I have a sunroom that was added onto my mstr bdrm by a previous owner. We have since removed the wood rotted doors and windows on the south side and now have a 14' span that needs a 6' double french door and two 36X48 windows. I've chosen steel doors and vinyl windows because of the intense sun. There is currently nothing but side walls(attached to house) and a flat roof. My problem is when I frame the opening for the door and windows I want to stucco the exterior around the door and windows. How far from the edge do I start my frame to allow for stucco? What size header do I need and should it extend from end to end? The height is 91" on the west and 92 on the east. How or what do I do to make up for the inch? Do I need king studs on both sides of the doors? I do alot of home improvement but have never tackeled framing a wall. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. My husband thinks I'm nuts to do it myself but I'm having a hard time finding someone to do a small job in Albuquerque.

You've asked a bunch of design questions that cannot and should not be answered on a forum such as this. Perhaps a good local architect is called for, to help you with all the questions you've asked. They all have to be considered at once, kind of like a juggler who keeps a few balls in the air before finally catching them in the proper order. By having some design help, you'll have a clear idea of how to go about actually doing the job.

Did you ever hear the expression "why is there never time (or money)to do it right, but always time (or money) to do it over again?"? Please don't let yourself fall into that trap.
