I have 2 internal shear walls on first floor of 2 story house. They are sheathed with OSB on both sides. Is cutting a 4x4 or 4x6 hole for a 3-4gang switch box considered a big deal?
I have already put a couple of single gang receptacle boxes in. Do I have to consult an engineer on this stuff? Common sense tells me "no big deal" so I assume that an inspector will think it's the end of the world!
Thanks anyone.

Holes of those sizes cut into the sheathing will have no structural impact.

It's no big deal.

If you're still concerend, just call your local construction codes inspector who will verify what I've said.
