We have a new home, 4 months old and the sulphur smell is pretty bad. A few months ago the water heater was bleached and the smell went away, only to come back slowly within 2 weeks. It has now been back full force and I won't have any guests over until this smell is fixed. Our next step is to have someone bleach/chlorinate the well, which should take place soon. Any ideas? We live near a river and a swamp, which I'm told is part of the problem.

I had a well dug that gave me great water until a neighbor dug for their well and my water turned into a sulphur disaster. Have your water tested for purity (sulphur smells bad but shouldn't pose a health problem). You might need to dig a deeper well to get to a new underground water source. I went down another 200 feet or so and never had another smelly glass of water again.
