recently purchased a home and am fixing it up. my humidity level is in the 60 to 75% range. have moisture on inside of windows. crawl space has open vents but no insulation under the floor and no plastic covering ground. not enough insulation in the attic either. what would be the best solution to fix the humidity problem? what should be done first, second, and so on. finances are getting tight. purplesporty17@hotmail.com

Well your humidity level should be below 60% anything over is condusive for mold growth.Do you have a water leak anywhere? Finding that and fixing it is the first step. As far as your crawl space, get it sealed using 6mil plastic sheeting. Make sure you are properly insulated, check your existing insulation and make sure it is not damp. You should run a dehumidifier to get rid of the moisture. Remember, find and fix the water problem first, then seal your crawl space, check and add insulation if needed, and keep humidity levels below 60%. You can check out mlstesting.com for some good info. Good luck
