I think this will be an easy fix, but the light that comes on when I open or close my garage has an issue. The bulb either flickers or more likely won't come on unless I jiggle it. When I jiggle it it will come on for a anywhere from 2 minutes to 2 days then stops working again. I have changed bulbs and that worked for about 2 weeks now it's doing the same thing. It doesn't seem loose so does anyone have any idea what I need to do?

It sounds like you have a bad timer relay in the operator. I would suggest that you Google the manufacture of the unit and see if you can locate a parts list for this. Unless of course you already have this. You will need to replace this timer switch;/relay. But you also need to determine if the cost involved in fixing this wise as compared to the many new high tech garage door units that cost very little these days as compared to the parts and labor involved in fixing them.
This will all depend on the age of quality of the unit you now have installed.

Thank you so much for your input. Would you still think it is the timer if I can wiggle the light after opening or closing the door and get it to come on? It may stay on for 2 minutes and it may only stay on for 10 seconds. I really appreciate your input regardless. Thanks

My thought is that if the light stays on for various times then what would control this? My guess is the timer that keeps the light on.

Now if the normal light time when its working correctly is lets say three min and some times the light stays on for this length of time and other times it does not. But when you wiggle the light as you say and it then stays on for this three min period, then you have a loose wire going to the bulb or a defective bulb. Try using a heavy duty heavy service bulb.
